Nike’s Space Hippie 01 is emerging as the premier silhouette from the brand’s collection of sneakers made entirely from recycled materials. Launched last Summer, the Space Hippie project transforms Nike’s factory waste into entirely new textiles, and then, footwear. Available in four different numbered models, the primary pair of this branch of the Move to Zero series is clearly the 01 Space Hippie, likely due to its standardized shape and lacing system. This week, the Space Hippie 01 has emerged in two new colorways for the upcoming Spring and Summer months, dressing the sleek silhouette in two contrasting colorways. The first pits the Space Hippie’s knit upper in a dark “Obsidian” blue tone, mixing in lighter shades for the Swoosh, as well as adding colorful accents in orange and forest green to the lacing system and heel tabs. The second pair is much lighter in color, featuring a simple grey upper with bright pink accents, and a “Melon Tint” midsole to round out the look.

Nike’s latest colorways of the recycled materials Space Hippie 01 has been scheduled for release later this month on June 30th, 2021. The smooth “Obsidian” and bright “Melon Tint” looks will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers, retaining the usual price tag of $130.
