The Nike Space Hippie sneakers have returned for 2021, emerging in new colorways crafted from recycled and waste materials. This week, we have an early look at the new “Healing Jade” colorway, already launched in Japan earlier this year.
Nike’s push for more sustainable sneakers and clothing over the past year is admirable, pushing themselves to reuse leftover materials and recycle used to create more. Already, the Move to Zero initiative is infiltrating every aspect of the Nike brand, appearing on tags from NikeLab to ACG products in 2020, indicating the precise level of recycled materials in each item. This week, another entry in the Move to Zero campaign surfaced, bringing back Nike’s recycled Space Hippie footwear in a new color scheme for 2021. Titled “Healing Jade”, the smooth new look mixes a grey knit upper with a pale green midsole, the source of the color’s name. While we are still looking forward to a release of the “Healing Jade” Space Hippie 01, the new colorway has already released overseas in Japan in the form of the Space Hippie 03, so a full collection in the soft green tone is likely to be coming this Spring.

Nike’s latest colorway of the Space Hippie 01 trainer has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime in the coming weeks. The smooth “Healing Jade” color scheme will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers, in the full range of Space Hippie footwear. UPDATE 4/11/21: Nike’s “Healing Jade” colorway of last year’s Space Hippie 01 model has been scheduled to release later this month, on April 23rd, 2021. The black & green iteration will was delayed due to global shipping holdups, but will be available from Nike and select retailers for $130.
