Nike’s Space Hippie collection is less than two weeks old, and already the Swoosh has a handful of new color schemes getting ready for release. Today, we have an early look at the NikeLab-exclusive Space Hippie 01, sporting a new “Black Copper” color scheme.
Nike’s push for sustainability in its products has led to some interesting innovation in recent years, all of which is coming together for its latest environmentally safe project, the Space Hippie collection. Originally shown off during the brand’s Future Forum in New York City early this year, the Space Hippie program turns excess or waste materials directly into new sneakers and apparel. First launched last month, the Space Hippie collection made its debut in two simple color schemes; grey and orange as well as grey and green. Now, the Space Hippie 01 has surfaced in a new color scheme, perhaps signaling another NikeLab exclusive release. The latest look begins with a black knit upper, featuring a number of other color scraps mixed in for the keen-eyed observer. The oversized Swooshes come in a shimmering copper tone, while a plain grey Crater Foam midsole completes the look.

The Nike Space Hippie collection in the new “Black Copper” colorway has not yet been announced for release, though we expect them to hit shelves sometime in the coming weeks along with several other new color schemes. The stealthy copper look will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers in limited quantities, similar to the first batch of Space Hippies.
