The Nike SB Bruin React made its debut earlier this year, in the form of Gino Ianucci’s signature POETS model. Now, the Bruin React is finally hitting shelves in standard-issue colorways, like this “Team Royal” iteration, coming soon.

Nike’s Bruin sneaker is one of those shoes that transcends its original purpose, adopted by wearers around the world for dozens of different reasons and purposes, though none have stuck quite like the skateboarding community’s affinity. Introduced back in 1973 alongside the Blazer, the Bruin was Nike’s other first foray onto the basketball court, and like many of their other shoes in the category, was later adopted by the Nike SB team in response to the skate community’s love of Bruins. Now, the Bruin has received some serious new technical upgrades, starting with the React cushioning midsole buried inside. Originally, this version was introduced by Gino Ianucci’s POETS earlier this year, before returning in general-release form just this month. The current version makes some small changes to its collaborative debut iteration, namely reducing the overall presence of the Swoosh as well as adding some durable ripstop paneling to the rear of the shoe. The Bruin React Low will launch initially in an eye-catching “Team Royal” tone, with more colorways to follow in the coming weeks.

Nike SB’s first in-line release of the Bruin React in the bright “Team Royal” color scheme has not yet been announced for release, but given recent SB drops, we expect them to arrive at retailers sporadically over the next few weeks. The React-equipped low-top Bruin will be available from both Nike and select retailers for just $100.
