The Nike React Element 87 hasn’t even made its global debut, and its already being considered the shoe of the year. However, Nike has some plans to compete with themselves soon. Check out the React Element 55 launching this Fall.

Nike’s React Element series has barely made its debut and is still making waves in the global sneaker scene. Originally debuted last year in an Undercover fashion show, the Element 87 was a wild departure from our expectations for Nike React. The new silhouette gave a clean and unusually sporty look to a lifestyle shoe, as well as wild new technologies like React foam and a translucent upper. While the model is still in its initial rollout, a new takedown model of the silhouette has appeared online and is expected to drop later this year. The Nike React Element 55 takes many design cues from the original pair, while still removing some of the excess flare for a more streamlined look. The new shoe appears to feature a soft mesh or knit upper in the same shape as the 87. Thick eyelets help to reinforce the central areas while taping around the heel provides stiffer support where its needed the most. Finally, the new Element 55 sits on top of the same modular midsole as its predecessor.
