Nike’s Presto silhouette has been a source of inspiration for the Swoosh since it debuted in the early 2000s. Now, as they prepare the React Presto for release, new images have surfaced showing Nike’s ode to the original shoe in an array of new colorways.
While we are still anxiously awaiting the debut of Nike’s new Presto React colorway, a new development has multiplied that anxious excitement exponentially. Last time we reported on the new kicks, a slew of colorways had surfaced all at once, giving us a good look at what to expect from the impending release. However, since then, some new details and colorways have arisen.
If you were around for the original run of the Nike Air Presto, then you’re probably aware of the marketing campaign the Swoosh ran during the initial debut. For each of the original 13 colorways, Nike created a cartoon character to represent the names of each look. These characters included a rabid panda bear, a bee, and smiling rain cloud amongst others. While Nike pretty much moved on from those special releases since then, it appears they’ll be paying homage to those famous colorways with the new React Presto. So far, six shoes have surfaced showing off the character association, including the bee, panda, narwhale, a lava lamp, and cassette tape. Each cartoon will match the main color scheme of the shoe they are printed on.
Nike’s latest colorways of the Presto React have not yet been announced for release, but we are expecting them to arrive in stores sometime this Summer. Without any official word regarding the rehauled silhouette, we can still only speculate that the Presto React will go for more than the usual $100. Check out the early images below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more Nike release news.
