Nike’s n. 354 Squash Type returns this season, carrying on the legacy of John McEnroe signature sneaker through a modernized update. This week, we have a close look at the new “Shattered Backboard colorway, available now.

Nike’s new N.354 line is a refreshing take on many historic Swoosh silhouettes from over the past few decades. Using many of the prototypes and whiffed innovations from their archives, the N.354 line repurposes them for more modern releases, like the recently reworked version of John McEnroe’s Mac Attack, titled the Squash Type. The modernized version appears to take inspiration from both Nike SB footwear as well as the shape of the Jordan 1 Low, all packed into the form of a modern-day Mac Attack. Now, after a couple of low-key releases so far this year, the Squash Type returns this month in a new Shattered Backboard-inspired color scheme. The look features black suede and orange leather overlays set against a white mesh background, while a minimalist Nike Swoosh completes the look.
