Matthew Williams’ work with Nike has been one of the most unique, off-base projects the Swoosh has worked on in recent years. Marked by the designer’s unusual silhouettes, the MMW Zoom 4 returns in “Overdyed Brown” soon.

Matthew M. Williams and Nike first teamed up to work on sneakers and apparel together in 2019, releasing collaborations with Matthew himself as the creative lead, as well as side projects with the designer’s 1017 ALYX label. In these short few years, Williams and Nike have managed to craft some of the most exciting sneaker silhouettes in recent memory, leaning heavily into Williams’ penchant for the avant garde. The prime example would be the Nike MMW Zoom 4, the latest of his signature sneakers to join the arsenal. The Zoom 4 relies heavily on its namesake Zoom air units in the midsole, as well as an interesting use of negative space to create a midsole that could be used to teach physics classes. The latest colorway of the MMW Zoom 4, which Nike unveiled this week, appears to feature an overdyed brown tone for the upper, though this will likely become more clear when the actually officially announce the release.
