The Nike LD-1000 is back this year. The runner originated in the 1970s and prominently features the brand’s iconic Waffle sole technology. This week, the Swoosh added the OG “University Gold” style to their October release calendar.
Nike revived their classic LD-1000 runner this year, after several years of incorporating the sleek and classic design into a number of new releases. The model was used as inspiration in projects with both Sacai and Undercover, but now has returned in its OG build, as well as some original colors like this “University Gold” style.
The latest pair of Nike’s LD-1000 brings one of the running shoe’s original color schemes back into the fold this season. Originally released back in 1977 among the shoe’s debut lineup, the golden-hued pair covers the shoe’s mesh and suede layers in the muted shade, while adding Safety Orange accents for the Swooshes and heel tabs.
