Nike has expanded their Kobe line to encompass a range of their iconic sneakers, including the Air Force and Dunk Low. This week, we have an early look at the Dunk’s “WNBA” All-Star special, coming in July.
Kobe Bryant’s drive to be the best elevated his basketball game to unfathomable levels, while his off-court pursuits made his signature sneaker line the greatest we’ve seen in the modern era. His shoes had a profound impact on young players around the world, and when it came time for Nike to begin retroing the models, Kobe insisted they be updated to remain viable on the professional basketball court. This gave us the Protro line, in which Nike modifies older silhouette’s with new tech, while keeping the aesthetic exactly the same. The Protro family expanded to include the Air Force last year, and this year, the Dunk Low has been added to the mix. Today we have an early look at a special pair coming for the WNBA’s All-Star Weekend in July, which pits the shoe in a smooth color scheme of black, muted purple, and bold red tones. This pair also features a new tongue piece of a foam mesh, offering a more breathable alternative than your standard Dunk.
