Jalen Brunson is Nike’s go-to guy for Kobe sneaker PEs right now. The Knicks’ star has debuted one after another of incredible special pairs, now including a Star Wars-themed “Knightfall Vader” edition.

Nike’s PE game has been incredible for the past few basketball seasons. The Swoosh has partnered with a number of stars from both the NBA and WNBA to outfit them in special-edition colorways of iconic sneakers throughout the season. With the NBA playoffs now underway, the Swoosh is rolling out an extra level of heat during crunch time. This week, the Knicks’ point guard Jalen Brunson debuted a special pair of the Kobe 6, his preferred model from Bryant’s signature line. Arriving just in time for Star Wars Day, May 4th, this look takes inspiration from a brief period in Galactic history; the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire.

Dubbed “Knightfall Vader”, this Kobe 6 specifically focuses on Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the Dark Side of the force after bending the knee to Emperor Palpatine. After Order 66, Skywalker invaded the Jedi temple on Coruscant with his 501st legion of clone troopers, and exterminated any Jedi remaining at their headquarters. The look features a white forefoot that faded to black at the heel, and bears a gradient Swoosh that changes from blue at the front to red at the rear, reflecting the change in saber color from Anakin to Vader. Knightfall is the term used to describe Anakin during this time, when he was at the peak of his powers before losing his battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar.

Unfortunately, this special Kobe 6 PE from Nike for Jalen Brunson is not expected to release to the public. While many of his excellent other signature colorways have made their way to the public so far, this pair will likely remain an exclusive style for the point guard.
