Vanessa Bryant is back in her sneaker leaking bag this week, unveiling a ton of new releases for the Nike Kobe line. Among the new styles is a Philadelphia Eagles-themed look for the Kobe 5, releasing in 2027.
Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa has taken up the mantle of giving us sneak peaks at what is in the works for her husband’s signature sneaker line in recent years. Nike’s output of Kobe shoes is prolific, so Vanessa’s semi-regular teasers barely cover the full scope of colors and styles for future releases, but she always manages to pick some of the best and brightest styles to share well ahead of any official unveiling. One of my favorites from the most recent round was the “Iron Man” Kobe 9 Elite, an excellent interpretation of the Shellhead’s armor into sneaker form.
Another sneak peak from Vanessa this week was an ode to Kobe’s hometown football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Kobe would often wear Eagles gear in his retirement era, appearing court side at Lakers games in a team beanie or other branded merch. For the sneaker version, Nike has opted for the Kobe 5 Protro to get the lush green treatment. The new look constructs the bulk of the shoe’s upper in a Pine Green suede, paired with white leather for the eyestays, tongues, and midsoles. Swooshes are applied in a dark grey chenille, giving the shoe a vintage collegiate apparel vibe.

The next Nike Kobe release nodding to Bryant’s hometown football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, is currently expected to release on january 16th, 2027. Obviously this date is subject to change, but the release would be very timely for the NFL playoffs. Pine Green and white intersect across the upper, with a chenille Swoosh to complete the look. Pairs will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers for $200.
