While it seemed like the ties were severed between the Bryant last name and Nike, it was just announced that the two have reached an agreement to continue Kobe’s legacy exactly how we would want it.

When Vanessa Bryant announced that the Kobe x Nike series would be canceled, the entire sneaker world was in shock. Although Kobe had a deal with adidas previously and obviously wasn’t tied to the Nike brand his entire career, the possibilities were endless and we’re sure that Vanessa Bryant had a lot of offers on the table going forward with what to do with hir husbands series and legacy. Well now we finally have clarity on the situation and it just feels right. Nike will be continuing their Kobe Bryant series with a goal of raising awareness and inspiring a new generation and encouraging youth participation in sports. They will also be working with Vanessa on a new youth basketball center in Southern California, that will continue to grow the sport along with outfitting NBA and WNBA athletes.

The first series from the two will be the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” which we previously saw before the contract was ended via numerous leaks. While a release date has yet to be scheduled, all proceeds from the shoe will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

We will be following the Kobe x Nike collection going forward, so make sure to follow JustFreshKicks for all of the updates going forward and more of the latest sneaker news from Kobe x Nike capsule.
