Despite having just announced their new Joyride midsole cushioning, Nike has unveiled a stash of new silhouette utilizing the technology for lifestyle means. With options for women, children, sneakerheads and fashion fans, they’ve got just about all angles covered.

The new Joyride technology is applied in a variety of different ways for each silhouette. When crafting the new cushioning, Nike’s innovation team crafted a system of ‘Pods’ that help manage the placement and directional displacement of the TPE plastic beads under your foot. Almost all the shoes feature a large pod under the heel carrying the bulk of the beads, while others feature additional, smaller pods under the midfoot and toes for better propulsion off the ground. However, each new silhouette is built with a different purpose, which means the midsole construction is not uniform for these lifestyle models.

First up, we have the Joyride NSW. As a clear nod to the recent Nike Sportswear branding, this look borrows elements from some of the greatest classic Nike shoes, which can be seen through the circular overlays and stiff additions to the outside of the midsole. Next is the Joyride Setter. Initially debuted at Matthew M. Williams’ Paris Fashion Week show last month, the Setter features a specially-constructed quilted upper with rubber eyelets and stability patches for support. The Setter appears to be the more fashion-forward silhouette from the bunch, which explains MMW’s use in his show.

Then, theres the womens’ exclusive Joyride NSW Optik. The Optik removes any traces of a traditional lacing system, instead replacing it with a diagonal zipper that stretches from the outside of the collar to the inner quarter panels. The Optik is also constructed from premium materials and adds an elevated heel for a unique look. Finally, the Joyride Nova. Easily the most basic build in the Joyride family, the Nova is built just for kids, using a stretchy neoprene upper with a single midfoot strap to keep things simple for the kids.
