Nike is making their first foray into the world of breakdancing footwear this year. At a recent event for the Paris Olympics, they unveiled the Jam, a purpose-built silhouette specifically with b-boys in mind.

This week, Nike held their ‘On Air’ event in Paris to showcase some of the team kits for various countries to sport during the upcoming Olympics, as well as a the wide range of footwear that will be worn by athletes. Alongside the next evolution of the Pegasus franchise, the future-forward Premium model, Nike also showed off a brand new silhouette – the Jam. Designed hand in hand with their Sports Research Lab (NSRL for short), the Jam is a performance shoe designed for breakdancers, one of the Olympics new sports for 2024. The shoe features a construction of mesh, suede, and leather, as well as drop-in midsoles for impact resistance. As for cosmetic details, the sole features an upside down Swoosh for when dancers are inverted, switching the direction.

Nike has not yet announced when the new Jam breakdancing shoe will release to the public. The silhouette will be worn by Nike athletes during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and a release will likely follow towards the end of the year. Designed in partnership with the NSRL, the shoes will likely be available exclusively through Swoosh channels.
