Nike’s ISPA division continues to impress with new interpretations of their established silhouettes. This week, we have our first look at an updated take on the Flow, decking out the shoe in winter-ready materials as the season approaches.

The ISPA division of Nike has been hard at work creating boundary-pushing silhouettes over the last few years. Debuting new technologies and production methods, the ISPA team first debuted their signature sneakers in 2019, before following up with a wide range of new styles the following year. Now, the ISPA team has reworked the Flow, one of 2020’s most interesting sneakers. With a design inspired by gram-shaving, the act of reducing weight by any means for runners, the Flow is one of the lightest sneakers Nike makes. However, this year it’ll get a bit heavier, as the team at ISPA has unveiled a special-edition version of the Flow seemingly designed for colder weather. This pair removed the weight-saving upper of the original in favor of a thick knit textile and a new entry system that adds a collapsible neoprene bootie secured in the front by a toggle lacing system. Otherwise, the new Flow SE retains most of the features of the original, from the perforated side panels to the unique React foam midsole.
