Nike ISPA’s Drifter silhouette was first introduced last month, merging technical and fashion design with its unusual materials and Tabi toe construction. Now, the Drifter is going a step further, adding a hide-away Gator for a more weather-resistant option.
Nike ISPA has introduced some wild new footwear over the past few years, debuting things from Nike’s Innovation Kitchen that have been in the works for years. Among these releases was the ISPA Gator, an overshoe-like attachment that paired to the Vapormax, creating a nearly knee-high weather-resistant boot. The shroud was removable from the shoe, though apparently, the ISPA team thought the idea was not quite finished, returning to the Gator design for their next release. For the updated version, the Gator will be applied to the more Recent ISPA Drifter model, first released back in September. This version ditches the Tabi toe for a more outdoors-appropriate construction, as well as extending the Drifter’s lacing system all the way to the heel. Next, the Gator shroud is attached via a zippered compartment around the heel, unfurling to be wrapped around your legs and sealed along the front side. Colorways of the ISPA Drifter Gator come in your choice of black & coastal blue with a volt colored shroud, or white and cream with a hyper crimson Gator.

Nike ISPA’s next footwear release, the Drifter Gator, is scheduled to drop later this week, on October 8th, 2020. The Gator-equipped sneaker will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with an elevated price tag of $220 due to the extra features.
