Nike’s “Galaxy” look, originally used on the Foamposite in 2012, is finally making its way to the GT Future this year. After months of speculation, then leaks, we finally have a close-up look at the “Galaxy Aura” edition, coming soon.
The new Nike GT Future basketball shoe has been rumored to release in a “Galaxy” edition since it first emerged exactly one year ago. The silhouette was unveiled during the 2025 All-Star celebration for the NBA, with Nike making sure the new model appeared at every event they hosted that weekend in the SF Bay Area. That season, the Swoosh was already celebrating the Foamposite with a series of special retros, with “Galaxy” look being the flagship sneaker of the weekend. Almost immediately, fans made the connection between the two shoes, but it wouldn’t be made official until much later in 2025. This weekend, Nike & Jordan designer Franke Cooke finally unveiled the new colorway, and official information and photos emerged shortly afterward. The “Galaxy Aura” look paints the shoe mostly in black, applying a vivid green galactic photograph around the base of the shoe on both sides.
NIKE GT FUTURE “GALAXY AURA” RELEASE INFORMATION
The new Galaxy print edition of Nike’s GT Future has not been officially announced yet, but is currently expected to release on March 30th, 2026. The new look brings back the iconic Galaxy print from the Foamposite, adjusting the look for the GT Future’s more modern design, cast largely in black with galactic imagery around the bottom of the shoes. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $210.
