With a new year almost upon us, one thing is certain: new silhouettes from our favorite footwear brands. This week, Nike has unveiled one of its initial projects for 2021. Check out the Fontanka Edge, coming this month.

Nike’s innovations in 2020 have brought us some incredible milestones in the brand’s history. From advancements in React to the introduction of recycled ZoomX and soon, Air-filled uppers, Nike is improving their shoes in every aspect, with no signs of slowing down. This week, we have our first look at one of the Swoosh’s brand new, upcoming silhouettes for 2021, known to be named the Fontanka Edge. While it is currently unclear what category this model will fall, the technology included is quite advanced, likely making this some sort of running or training footwear. The Fontanka Edge features what appears to be a seamless upper constructed from various types of mesh and synthetic materials, fused together at the edge via heat. The Fontanka also includes a truly massive midsole unit, seemingly made from standard EVA with brick-like ZoomX inserts visible on either side, while a massive heel counter stretches around the back of the shoe.
