The Nike Field General is the latest shoe from their archives to appear in a retro form, rehashing the silhouette’s original shape for the ’82 format. Several new styles are set to arrive throughout the rest of the year, with the latest pair in “Elemental Pink” surfacing this week.
Nike’s Field General is back this year, returning the 1982 turf trainer to the Swoosh’s catalog in its original format for the first time in nearly a decade. The model served as the inspiration behind the popular Tom Sachs GPS sneaker, as well as a number of other simple trainers over the last four decades. Now, its simple looks and color blocking are giving Nike fans another casual lifestyle option for everyday wear.
This Summer has brought us a wave of low profile retro Nike sneakers. Both the LD-1000 and Field General have been in steady supply, and rolled out with some high profile collaborations from Stussy and Union, respectively. This week, another in-line style of the Field General has emerged, dressing the shoe in a bright “Elemental Pink” shade across its nylon and leather layers. Navy blue branding and gum soles round out the look.
