Nike Field General ’82 in White & Gum Releases This Summer

Nike is reviving their Field General sneaker from 1982 this year, returning another retro silhouette to their catalog. This week, a simple white and grey pair with yellow gum soles surfaced for a Summer release.

Nike’s Field General is back this year, returning the 1982 turf trainer to the Swoosh’s catalog in its original format for the first time in nearly a decade. The model has served as inspiration from a number of silhouettes over the years, including Tom Sachs’ fan-favorite General Purpose Shoe. After its initial release in white, red, and black last month, a second in-line pair has emerged this week for a Summer release. This new style covers the shoe’s mesh and suede upper with plain white, adding soft grey to the Swooshes and heel counters. The upper rests on a yellow gum midsole underfoot, giving the shoe an aged look.
