The Nike Dunk Low is back in full force this year, with even more new colorways slated to arrive throughout 2021. This week, we have an early look at one of these upcoming pairs, adorning the Dunk with branding from Nike’s Blue Ribbon Studio.

Blue Ribbon Sports is a name that any self-respecting Nike fan should be familiar with, as the original branding for the Swoosh from 1964 to 1972. The Blue Ribbon name was dropped in favor of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. Since then, the Blue Ribbon name has all but disappeared from Nike’s history, though it is starting to resurface in recent years as the Swoosh embraces nostalgia, celebrating key moments throughout the brand’s fifty-four-year run. This week, we have an early look at a new Dunk Low SP celebrating Nike’s Blue Ribbon Studio, a maker lab space in Nike’s Portland headquarters where employees can run wild with ideas, using laser cutters, 3D-printers, and more to bring the, to life. This homage to the studio itself applies a canvas upper to the Dunk Low with some fairly wild color blocking, seemingly cut from scrap materials covered in various graphics. While they appear random, the shoes are, in fact, symmetrical.
