Nike’s Dunk Low will be dropping in a special new design that celebrates the 75th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier by playing first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Baseball is back and fans can’t be more exciting thanks to the long lock-out and the massive off-season that saw some of the biggest stars switching teams. To commemorate the start of the season and to celebrate the special pastime of the game, Nike will be adding a special rendition to their Dunk Low collection that honors Jackie Robinson and his giant role in breaking the color barrier in not only baseball but all professional sports.
The rendition is slated for a Dodger blue makeover that features a grey base and a blue overlay system that features an all-over graphic of the famous, “I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me. All I ask is that you respect me as a human being” quote. “42” is included on the lower ankles while baseball stitched theme laces tie the sneaker down. To complete the rendition a Jackie Robinson 75th Anniversary insignia highlights the tongues.
