Last year, Nike released their first sneakers in celebration of the Korean Alphabet holiday, Hangul Day. Now, we have a first look at this’s year’s Dunk Low for the occasion, dropping in October.
In October, Korea celebrates Hangul Day, also known as Alphabet Day. The holiday celebrates the creation of the Korean alphabet during the 15th century, and is marked as a national holiday in both North and South Korea. Last year, Nike released pairs of the Air Force 1 Low and Air Max 1 in celebration, and is gearing up for more special-edition sneakers ahead of the October 9th holiday, this time featuring the Dunk Low. This year’s release casts the silhouette in a premium new color scheme, beginning with a ‘Light Orewood Brown’ suede, adding matching nubuck for the shoe’s overlays. Swooshes are added in white leather with matching tongues, while cream white laces add to the neutral palette. Heels and insoles are both decorated with Hangul characters, in addition to the added hangtag on each pair.
