Last week, images of a new Nike Dunk style surfaced with a very craft-focused look, sporting a ton of unique materials and details. Now, a second pair has joined the lineup, this time dressing the silhouette in a “Sanded Purple” color scheme.
Nike’s Dunk Low has seen a lot of support from the brand over the last five years. Prior to 2020, the model was kept under close supervision, doled out sparingly for special collaborations and themed releases. Nike removed all of their safeguards for the Dunk at the turn of the decade, flooding the market with retro and new colors. While wide availability for the iconic shoe was exciting for a while, Nike was releasing 10+ new styles every month, and the market saturation quickly took away the general hype around the Dunk.
This week, Nike is introducing a notable change to the Dunk, with a version that can only be described as a Craft offshoot. The first pair emerged in a “Brown Kelp” colorway with a suede build and heavy emphasis on special detailing. Today, a second pair has surfaced in a “Sanded Purple” style. This look appears to pay homage to the very popular “Court Purple” SB Dunk from last year in its color blocking, with some notable changes to materials. The new style features a suede base layer, adding a canvas or denim textile to the forefoot and heel overlays. Swooshes are still embroidered on, and the chain stitch detailing around the heels is present. Toe box perforations have also been substituted for a cross-shaped stitch.

Nike’s new special release of the Dunk Low has not been officially slated for release yet, but is expected to arrive in October 2025. The silhouette comes in a subtle palette of Sanded Purple over a white and black base, and a gorgeous mixed material construction with special details. Pairs will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers for $120.
