The Nike Dunk Low Co.JP “City Attack” Returns This Week

Nike has been reissuing more iconic Dunk Low colors over the last few years, bringing back some sought-after and limited pairs for a wider release. This week, the Japan-exclusive Co.JP “City Attack” color scheme in red and navy blue is set for its first global release, coming this Friday.

The Nike Co.JP program began in the mid-1990s, as a way for the Swoosh to supply Japanese retailers with exclusive releases and custom colorways. When a store made a request for a certain new style, and agreed to a minimum order quantity, Nike would craft the special-edition models, releasing them exclusively in Japan. Most shoes never made it out of the country, as Dunks were extremely popular there at the time. However, Nike has reissued a number of classic Co.JP styles in recent years, and are adding another to their list of global releases this week; the “City Attack” edition.

The “City Attack” pair of the Dunk Low for the Co.JP line originally released in 1999, exclusively through Nike’s Japanese retail partners. The model has never seen a rerelease until now, which comes to celebrate the distinctive colorways’ twenty-fifth anniversary. The look pairs a striking University Red leather base with dark Obsidian blue overlays, along with a plain white midsole to balance out the look.

Nike’s “City Attack” colorway of the Dunk Low Co.JP has not been officially added to the brand’s public release calendar yet, but is expected to return this Friday, July 5th, 2024. Originally a Japan-exclusive look in 1999, the model returns worldwide at both Nike and select retailers for its twenty-fifth anniversary, for $115.
