Nike’s Lunar New Year releases always bring something special to the table. This year, the Swoosh is celebrating San Francisco’s historic Chinatown with a Release of the Dunk High SF Chinatown ‘Gold Mountain’

Nike annually releases a collection of footwear for the Asian Lunar New Year holiday, decking out their classic silhouettes in limited-edition colorways, often with a number of extra details and premium materials. This year, the brand is celebrating San Francisco’s historic Chinatown, which is the oldest neighborhood of its kind in the country. So far, we’ve seen an Air Force 1 surface as part of the release, and today, we got our first look at the Dunk High for the collection. The pair begins with a white leather base layer, adding pale grey suede overlays to the forefoot and lacing system, with medium grey suede for the heel sections. Swooshes are added in a light tan suede, while an icy blue outsole and green linings complete the look. Special branded tongue tags appear on each shoe, as well as the ‘Gold Mountain’ logo on the outer heels, which symbolizes the nickname for the West coast given by Chinese immigrants that traveled to the Bay Area during California’s gold rush in the 1840s.
