Nike’s Daybreak has been a staple of the brand’s release calendar since it first resurfaced early last year, even getting a modernized update in the Daybreak Type in 2020. Now the Daybreak returns, featuring recycled Crater Foam and other sustainable materials.

Nike’s vintage running archives have been a flood of inspiration and retro release in recent years for the brand, and we are all in on it. The latest silhouette to be reintegrated into the Swoosh arsenal, the Daybreak SP, has been the shoe of choice for Nike fans wanting a sleek, lightweight, and classic look the past few years, and Nike is happy to supply us with regular new releases. Available in a newly modernized “Daybreak Type” version as of this year, the parred-down iteration of the vintage runner has been popping up regularly on release calendars for the past few months. Today, however, Nike surprised us with its latest colorway, which applies recycled Crater Foam to the midsole amongst other material changes inspired by the “Space Hippie” collection. The upper has also been reconstructed, made this time from recycled polyester in a similar manner to the Air Jordan 1 set to release sometime this year.
