Nike has reissued their Clogposite this year, bringing back the modified basketball shoe in a fresh wave of new and OG colors. Later this year, they are releasing a “Green Goblin” pair, copying the Flightposite worn by Willem Dafoe in Spider-Man.
Back in 2002, Sony released their first Spider-Man movie, starring Tobey Maguire as Spidey opposite Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. Keen-eyed sneakerheads at the time noticed something unique about the Goblin costume, the Nike Flightposite shoes that were a part of the armor set. This year, with both the Flightposite and its low-top Clogposite counterpart back in rotation, Nike is finally releasing the iconic look to the public.
Photos of the custom Flightposites from the Spider-Man movie have floated around the internet for years, with pairs from the movie’s costume department occasionally popping up at auction. Now, Nike is giving us the chance to own a part of movie history with a release of the Clogposite in that color scheme, casting the shoe in the metallic green finish from the Green Goblin suit, with black and silver accents completing the look.
