Nike just launched a brand new Classic Cortez that looks like it is dedicated to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Nike Cortez is peak Los Angeles sneaker culture, New York has Timbs, LA has Nike Cortez’s. WHile we have seen the silhouette take on California styles before and even get a collaboration with California native, Kendrick Lamar, this purple and gold colorway has to be inspired by the Laker’s popular colors.
Featuring a black leather upper which sees tonal accents on the forefoot overlays, tongue and laces, purple and gold splashes onto the rubber midsole, outsole and heel for the Lakers look. The shoe is then somplemented with a white Nike Swoosh and midsole that completes the NBA-inspired design.
