Nike will be joining the popular slide community this Fall 2023 season with a brand new all-foam slip-on model, dubbed the Nike Calm Slide.
It’s nothing new to companies but we obviously know where Nike is going with this slide and for many fans, the initial reaction has not been a good one but of course, that can all change when these release and they become the next biggest thing in footwear. While slip-on shoes have been a thing of the past we saw an uptick in demand starting in 2020, thanks to Kanye’s organic take on the technology and we also attribute it to the pandemic, as everyone was just trying to stay as comfortable as possible. Over the past three years, Yeezy has dominated the market of slides and we’ve seen other brands add their own unique take to the slip-on competition but Nike has timed theirs at a perfect time, filling a void in the market that may be free game due to Ye’s and adidas’ termination.
The slide will feature a two-piece foam system that will debut in a total of five colorways. Three unisex offerings, one men’s pair, and one women’s pair. The colorways have been listed as “Black,” “Sail,” “Sesame,” “Geode Teal,” and “Jade Ice.” The slides will also feature Nike Swoosh logos on the inner insoles as well as the forefoot strap. Down below, fans will find a rubber outsole that looks very similar to the Air Force 1 Flyknit’s outsole thanks to a patterned geometric design.

The Nike Slide will debut this Fall 2023 season in the five colorways discussed above. Each pair will retail for $50 and will be available via select Nike retailers and Nike.com.
