Nike’s vast archives of silhouettes are frequently the source of new inspiration for their design teams, revitalizing lost classics with a new spin. This season, they are introducing the C1TY, a fresh model inspired by some recent hits.
Nike is adding a brand new silhouette to their catalog this season. Inspired by some of their retro trainers, the new style is heavily inspired by the Field General, which is in the midst of a retro run right now, as well as the Tom Sachs’ General Purpose Shoe, which disappeared from release calendars last year.
Dubbed the C1TY, the new model is nearly a carbon copy of the GPS, featuring strikingly similar paneling and a mesh and suede construction with a thick rubber midsole. The two shoes feature the same 3M highlight at the toes, as well as the exposed edge of the collar. The C1TY will be available in two “Platinum Tint”-based colorways at launch, with a colorful accent choice of either volt green or bright orange.
