Nike’s Blazer Mid silhouette has been on a roll over the past few years, as the shoe evolved from retro, to collab, to full-blown hit sneaker in a little less than a year. Now, Nike is using the fan-favorite to celebrate Coming to America with a wild new colorway.
Released in 1988, Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America was a massively important movie at the time, showcasing the struggle of immigrants in America through a highly comedic nature. Nike’s latest colorway of the Blazer Mid takes direct inspiration from the pivotal Eddie Murphy film, and ties in the movie directly by emblazoning its logo on both heels of the Blazer. As for the rest of the shoe, the upper is covered almost entirely in a red-based plaid, with green and white additions to the pattern. The lacing system and heel tabs are constructed from blue corduroy, while a green leather inner lining and embroidered yellow Swoosh complete the look.
