With Pride month rapidly approaching, sneaker brands are starting to unveil special releases for the occasion. This week, Nike previewed its yearly “Be True” collection, this time featuring the Air Force 1, Air Max 2090, and the ACG Air Deschutz.

Nike’s yearly Be True collection has become a staple in sneakerheads’ June release schedule. Featuring a wide variety of past and present Swoosh silhouettes, this collection is first and foremost a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as a small way for the Swoosh to give back. This year, Nike is adding several more charities to the list of organizations they support through donations and grants, bringing their total above 20 (view the full list here). This year’s collection includes a total of three silhouettes, the Air Force 1, Air Max 2090, and the recently revived ACG Air Deschutz. Each one follows simple inspiration, like the AF1 pulling from New York City ballroom culture of the mid-’80s through a white construction with multicolor accents. The 2090 pulls from Pride Parade marches, using the silhouette’s layered upper to display the rainbow through a number of different panels, and finally, the Air Deschutz adds rainbow colors to its strap system, as well as a zippered pouch in the rear for extra storage.
