Nike’s “City Pride” Pack Pays Homage to Three Major Baseball Cities With Three Shoes

Nike’s history is intertwined with just about every major sport in the United States. So, it comes as no surprise when they pay homage to the legendary places and moments of each. This week, Nike shared a first look at the “City Pride”, dropping soon.

Nike’s reach extends to just about every single sport on the planet, and its no wonder why. Since its inception, the Swoosh has built one of the most dominant brands on the planet, known around the world for the quality and all around styling of their athletic equipment. While each sport of category offered by Nike requires a different set of gear, the creative teams behind each have a knack for collaborating on something unique. Next month, a crossover project between Nike’s baseball and lifestyle divisions is set to release, paying homage to several baseball cities with a three shoe pack.

Nike’s City Pride baseball pack takes three legendary silhouettes and paints them in a colorful new look, paying homage to several baseball cities around the country. First up, Nike celebrates the Chicago Cubs with the Blazer Mid 77. The shoe is constructed from a crisp white leather upper, accented by a navy blue tongue and Swoosh. Next, the Toronto Blue Jays are enshrined on the Air Force 1 Low, which features a pale blue leather midfoot that switches to a brighter royal blue tone at the heel. Lastly, the Houston Astros orange, gold, navy blue tones take over the fabled Air Trainer Huarache. In addition to the signature color scheme, each shoe is complete by a Nike tag on the tongue attached via the red seams of a baseball.
