Nike rolled out another iconic silhouette for its first-ever retro release in 2023, John McEnroe’s Mac Attack. The silhouette has quietly stayed in the Nike catalog this year, and is getting an interesting new “Snakeskin” edition in 2025.
The Nike Attack, which drops its name relation to its signature athlete, John McEnroe, has remained in the Nike catalog since its return at the end of 2023. Since then, the model has arrived in a nice range of styles, including Travis Scott’s take on the OG grey & blue pair, with his signature reverse Swooshes. Now a new special-edition release has appeared on the horizon for early 2025.
This pair of the Attack is rumored to be a part of Nike’s upcoming Lunar New Year collection, though it differs greatly from other shoes in the project. Cast in a nearly all-white upper, the look’s leather overlay panels feature a snakeskin style imprint on them, though this is the only nod to the Year of the Snake. The double-layered heel counter adds a splash of color in Mineral Teal and melon tint, with a matching checkered tongue badge to complete the look.

Nike’s next release of the retro Mac Attack model does not have a release date yet, but is expected to arrive early in 2025, possibly among the Lunar New Year collection. Dressed in white with teal and melon accents, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $130.
