The Air Max 97’s burst of popularity after last year’s anniversary has reinvigorated love for the silhouette. Nike has been adding new colorways to the lineup since the re-release last year, like the upcoming “Steelers” version coming soon.
The Nike Air Max 97 celebrated its twentieth-anniversary last year. The reception from fans was overwhelming, and the Swoosh struggled to make sure everyone who wanted a pair got some. Luckily, the celebration carried over into 2018 and Nike is continuing to produce both new and original colorways to feed the growing demand. The latest colorway to surface online for a coming release appears to be themed after the Pittsburgh Steelers, though this is largely due to the black & yellow color scheme. The mesh base of this AM97 begins with a soft grey tone, before transitioning to a black leather layer around the bottom of the shoe. The 3M reflective piping comes in silver to differentiate from the mesh, while the laving system is in black to make it pop. Finally, the Air bubble and inner lining come in a bright yellow to complete the look.

The next new Nike Air Max 97 colorway is ready to launch soon, though no official date has been announced. The sleek “Steelers” colorway will retail for the standard $160 from both Nike and select retailers.
