Nike’s Air Max family is one of the Swoosh’s most popular franchises, and this year they’re taking them to a new level. This September, the hybrid Air Max 90/1 returns in a beautiful new suede iteration in a smooth purple color.

The Air Max franchise is booming in 2018. With the months-long release period of the Sean Wotherspoon AM97/1 slowly drawing to a close, Nike is now looking to capitalize on the hybrid Air Max hype. Their solution is a new hybrid silhouette, which combines two of their fans’ favorite Air sneakers: the 90 and the 1. The combination first debuted earlier this Summer in a classic University Red color scheme, and now, Nike is bringing the heat with a new look. The new colorway strays away from the leather upper of the original and instead swaps it for a beautiful layer of smooth suede. The upper on this pair comes entirely in a new “Purple Basalt” colorway which pays homage to volcanic rock with a light, pastel-like color. Finally, the second Nike Air Max 90/1 is complete with a plain white midsole.
