Nike’s running shoes have always inspired their lifestyle models, but none have ever made the jump quicker than the new Air Zoom Type, inspired by the still unreleased AlphaFly Next% Prototype teased earlier this year.

The Nike AlphaFly Next% Prototype was first unveiled earlier this year, during the Swoosh’s Future Forum even in New York City back in February. Hosted during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend celebration, Nike had plenty to show off during their toned down tech conference. The AlphaFly was one of the most enticing new silhouettes to check out, with it wild double-stacked midsole and aggressive stance. Now, it appears Nike has crafted a more casual version of the prototype silhouette made for the streets, titled the Air Zoom Type. The “Type” moniker first appeared on Nike shoes late last year, signaling that the model in question is a fusion of prototype technology along with Nike’s current day standards, so the Air Zoom Type is outfitted with a hefty sole unit and two forefoot Air Zoom units for maximum comfort.

Nike’s new Air Zoom Type silhouette has been scheduled to make its debut next month, on June 5th, 2020. The advanced new prototype silhouette, which bridges the gap between running and lifestyle, will be available from both Nike and select retailers with a price tag likely in the $150 range.
