Nike surprised us last month with a re-release of the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 in its silver colorway. Now, an all-black pair has surfaced, coming sometime later in 2024.
Nike’s original release of the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 occurred over twenty years ago, back in 2003. The silhouette saw a very short revival in 2020, releasing a collaboration with Stüssy as well as a handful of in-line styles before returning to the brand’s archives. Then, last month, Nike quietly released the silhouette’s popular “Metallic Silver” colorway, and is seemingly gearing up for another retro stint for the vintage runner. This week, a Triple Black pair has surfaced, coming soon. This pair sports two different mesh patterns in black for its base layer, adding a glossy synthetic material on top, which features a carbon fiber-like texture to it. The entire midsole is blacked out as well, with jelly Swooshes to complete the look.
