The Nike Air Tuned Max is back. After a successful and somewhat hard to get launch of the OG “Celery” look yesterday, today we have an early look at an upcoming “Racer Blue” version of the classic Air Max sneaker, coming soon.

The Nike Air Tuned Max is officially back, as of yesterday’s release of the original color scheme. Now, the Swoosh is moving on to something new, rehashing the classic wild-looking sneaker in new colorways for the modern-day, thanks to the last twenty-two years worth of fans asking Nike to retro the Tuned Max. While several other brand new colorways have popped up on the internet over the past several weeks, today we have the official imagery of a smooth “Racer Blue” look to examine. This new style begins with a blacked-out mesh for the base layer, while synthetic white leather makes up the Tuned’s signature system of overlays. The TPU cages on the sidewalls come in a light neutral grey tone, matching the sneaker’s padded heel counters. The “Racer Blue” tone is added in the form of the sock-liner, as well as extending to the lacing system to add more color to the shoe’s exterior.

Nike’s next new color scheme of the 1999 Air Tuned Max has not yet been announced for release, though the subtle “Racer Blue” look is expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. The new Air Tuned Max will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of $170 per pair.
