Nike’s Air Tuned Max has begun its triumphant return, reintroduced as a retro model this year for the first time since 1999. Now, Nike is making up for lost time with plenty of new colorways, like this “Grey Navy” look, coming soon.

When the Nike Air Tuned Max was first introduced in 1999, it was the pinnacle of the brand’s various Air technologies combined with other essential running properties into one. The mixed material construction, featuring mesh, synthetic leathers, and plastic TPU caging, made for one of the most comforting yet high-performing running shoes of the era, and has since become a legend amongst Nike heads not only for these traits, but for its elusiveness over the past 22 years. Now, the Swoosh has revived the storied model, introducing a handful of new colors along the way, like this Grey/Navy look that surfaced online this week. The look begins with a soft grey mesh base for the upper, before layering on the webbing-like structural piece in black, and finally, bold navy blue synthetic leather.
