In 1987, Nike released the Air Trainer SC, a shoe purpose-built for dual-sport athlete Bo Jackson. Now, on the eve of the shoe’s thirty-fifth anniversary, Nike has begun to unveil their celebratory plans for the shoe, starting with new colorways.
The Nike Air Trainer family is one of the most innovative footwear lines ever dreamt up by the Swoosh design team. Bridging the gaps between multiple sports, the Air Trainer franchise could be utilized from the tennis court to the race track, and all the way to the football field. Originally introduced in 1987, the Swoosh appears to be gearing up to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Trainer family, with the reintroduction of the Air Trainer 1 and Air Trainer SC to their arsenal. Last week, we got our first look at a wild new take on the AT1, arriving next year. Now, we have yet another first look, this time examining an upcoming release of the Air Trainer SC High.
You cannot mention the Nike Air Trainer SC without mentioning Bo Jackson in the same breath. Easily the greatest multi-sport athlete to ever grace the baseball diamond and the football field, Bo played both professional sports at the same time, occasionally playing games in both fields in the same day. Thus, the legend of his sneakers was born. Now, the Air Trainer SC is gearing up for a special return. Seen here in a new color scheme, the look begins with a sand-colored canvas bae layer, while brown suede overlays take over the toe, midfoot, and heel counter. Green suede mid layers are mixed in throughout, while gold Nike branding completes the look.
NIKE AIR TRAINER SC HIGH BROWN/GREEN RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s upcoming new colorway of the beloved Air Trainer SC High has not yet been announced for release, and is expected to launch sometime in 2022. The canvas-based build in brown and green will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of at least $130.
