The Nike Air Trainer 1 is back. The iconic multi-sport training shoe is gearing up to celebrate its thirty-fifth anniversary in 2022, and if we know Nike, they have big plans for the beloved model. Check out the new Air Trainer 1 Utility “Light Smoke Grey” look, coming soon.

Nike’s Air Trainer 1 Utility appears to be the brand’s first major project featuring the legendary sneaker that turns thirty-five this year. Debuted in 1987, alongside other Nike greats like the Air Max 1, the Air Trainer 1 still stands today as one of the greatest training sneakers of all time, now worn as a style statement rather than a gym-ready silhouette. So, to kick off the Air Trainer’s monumental anniversary in 2022, Nike has unveiled their new ‘Utility’ iteration, which brings a wild redesign to the AT1 through new 3M reflective overlays and rugged, outdoor-ready materials. Already seen in a few colorways, this “Light Smoke Grey” version joins the ranks today, decorating the refined silhouette in shades of grey, brown, and mauve.
