The Nike Air Tailwind 79 had an unexpected role in this years Nike lineup and because of the praise from the community, Nike is set to introduce the “Illusion Pack” before the year ends.
Most likely due to the Stranger Things collaboration, the Nike Air Tailwind 79 had a great year. While we don’t see too much of the vintage runner, it was nice to see it pop back up and be loved by the sneaker community. While Nike tries to ride every last bit of the wave left, the brand is set to pair two different iterations with a wild theme, being dubbed the “Illusion Pack”.
Each of the two pairs arrives with a black and white nylon base upper that features trippy designs on either the paneling or the overlays. Swirls, Nike Swooshes, and wavy patterns all flow across the silhouettes for a design that’s fresh and definitely stands out. Volt accents then pop on each on either the tongue, heel or Nike branding to solidify the crazy design even more. A white retro midsole that sees specs of black and volt paint splatter finishes off the new design.
