The Nike Air Monarch is not the first Swoosh shoe that comes to mind when looking for something cool. Nevertheless, the silhouette has stuck around for years, even claiming the title of Nike’s best-selling model, selling over two million units in 2016 alone. While the Monarch is famous for its appearances on the feet of dads or in discount bins, the ridiculously comfortable sneaker has a cult following of fascinated sneakerheads. Possibly with this crowd in mind, Nike has whipped up a special edition of the Air Monarch IV just in time for Father’s Day.
The new “Weekend Campout” Air Monarch is the perfect gift for any sneaker-loving dad this Father’s Day. The smooth leather upper comes in a dark olive hue, set atop a white midsole and gum-colored outsole. The colorway alone evokes a feeling of campgrounds and evenings by the fire, though the details bring the story home. The left tongue features a shaggy chenille patch with the year 1979 embroidered on, while the right tongue carries a Camp Monarch 2018 patch, both set against a bold red background. The olive Swoosh on either side of the shoe will also come in chenille, and each insole is emblazoned with a patchwork of the Camp Monarch logo.

The limited edition “Weekend Campout” iteration retails for $120, which is slightly higher than the standard Monarch price.
