Nike Air Max Plus Sunset

Nike has been quietly celebrating twenty-five years of the Air Max Plus this year, releasing a handful of fresh colorways to honor the iconic runner. Now, the OG ‘Sunset’ colorway is expected to release again, late in 2024.

The Nike Air Max Plus Tuned 1 was originally released in 1998, through a partnership with Footlocker that saw the running shoe drop exclusively through the retailer’s stores. Since then, the Tuned has become an essential part of the Air Max lore, as the first shoe to feature the at-the-time brand new Tuned technology underfoot. The first batch of colors for the Plus were inspired by the Florida sky during different parts of the day, with the ‘Sunset’ pair seen here actually meant to signify the sunrise. Last released in retro form in 2018, the brilliant gradient color scheme is now rumored to see another release late in 2024, adding to Nike’s current run of special-edition pairs.

Nike’s latest retro colorway of the Air Max Plus to surface during its anniversary year has not been announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime late in 2024. Featuring a bright ‘Sunset’ color scheme, pairs are expected to be available from both the SNKRS app and select retailers for $180.
