Nike is bringing a new look to their classic Air Max Plus this year, reworking the upper with a zippable shroud and removable stash pockets on the heels, all dressed in a “Patina” color scheme.

Nike has a penchant for transforming their iconic silhouettes in new ways, repurposing running and basketball shoes for new purposes. One of the most famous examples if the Air Jordan 9 boot, which turns the already hiking boot inspired model into an outdoor staple. This year, the Air Max Plus will be getting that treatment for its new Hiker variant, coming in Summer 2024. The model will debut in a rusted “Patina” color scheme, which gives the shoe an old metal look, adding visible wear and tear that shines in a aded bronze tone, with hints of oxidized green copper. The upper has been reworked to add a nylon shroud, covering the shoe’s lacing system and adding waterproof zippers up the front. The heels come with removable zippered pouches for carrying extra supplies, and the presentation is complete with a rusted patina shoe box
