With rainy months rapidly approaching, sneaker brands are beginning to roll out their seasonal offerings for inclement weather. This year, the Air Max Goadome boot is getting two pony hair editions for its 25th anniversary.
The Nike Air Max Goadome first released in 2000 as part of the brand’s ACG line, designed by Carl Blakeslee. Created to blend outdoor durability with Nike’s signature Air cushioning, it quickly became a rugged alternative to Timberland’s classic 6-inch boot. Its waterproof leather upper, visible Air unit, and heavy-duty sole made it a favorite in urban communities, especially in New York City and the DMV. Over the years, reissues have introduced updated materials and new colorways, solidifying the Goadome as a durable streetwear staple.
This week, the Goadome has resurfaced in a luxurious new look, a fitting upgrade for the shoe’s twenty-fifth anniversary year. While the model does pop up every once in a while, two new styles seem to be headed our way later this season, applying a faux pony hair textile to both uppers. POny hair is typically reserved for high-end footwear, and these pairs have a price point to match it at $230 each. One pair dresses the entire silhouette in black, save for a tiny Swoosh outline on the outer heels. The other pair is far more eye-catching, using a a spotted pattern of brown and white for its unique upper.
