Nike’s Air cushioning technology and Flyknit materials are two of the most innovative advancements in footwear development. Released decades apart, the two still stand as some of the most popular Swoosh projects of all time, and soon, they will be joining forces for something special. The recently revealed Air Max Flyknit Racer combines the best of both worlds, taking the upper from the fan-favorite runner, sprucing it up a bit, and planting it on top of the Air Max midsole recently introduced on the Pre-Day silhouette, 2022’s contribution to the Air Max Day celebration. This week, we got an early look at a new ‘Scarlet’ color scheme set to drop this year, which builds the Flyknit upper from mixed red and white tones, almost mimicking a Christmas sweater in color.

Nike’s next color scheme of the new Air Max Flyknit Racer has not yet been announced for release, though they will likely release sometime in the coming weeks. The hybrid silhouette in ‘Scarlet’ will release from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of $160.
